Wii on the way

So I didn't get my Wii for Christmas like I wanted, but the hubby is ordering me one as my present. He didn't buy me anything because I told him not too. LOL! I told him if I get a Wii, I'd want him to buy me a game, so since I didn't get it, he's buying me the whole Wii console and a game. I mean, its not like he won't play it too, right?!

Anywho, we had a good Christmas with the family but I'm glad it's over. The meal was delicious and we'll have leftovers for a week! :)

Guess I should get back to work... can't wait to play with my Wii!!!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! We're about to start the Christmas day marathon... Not that we have a lot of places to go, we just stay home, but everyone comes here for food, presents, etc. So, as soon as I blow dry my hair, I have to cook... Ham, au gratin potatoes, corn, dressing, baked beans, deviled eggs... I think that's it. I already made meatballs, cheeseball and cake. Ohhhh, I love cake.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! Hope you have a blessed day!

My fugly ornaments...

Previously I mentioned some of the fugly ornaments that we display on our Christmas tree and last night I took a few quick pictures while I was trying to run down my camera battery. :)

Here's our Angel... and a view of the top of the tree. This angel looks like she's been through hell and back... But she's old and my mother refuses to throw her away, so now she lives on my Christmas tree.

Here's a cute little snowman/pine cone thingy... and I actually like this little fella.
And now, I present the fugly mice. These little buggers are hideous and old as hell. Blah.

Freakin' hilarious...

I used to be an EMT... and I've spent a lot of time on emergency calls, in the ER, etc. We've all seen folks like these... HILAROUS!!!

Meow, meow, meoowwww

So freaking adorable!!! I think I'd just die from laughter if I saw Fuz or Walter half way up our tree.... Then maybe I'd kill them. LOL

Well, I'm bored shitless... I should be working but its soooo slow. Seriously, who wants to do advertising the week of Christmas? Hell, I know I don't want to sell it, but the boss man is making me work all week except Friday. Hopeuflly, we'll get off around 2:30 or 3pm on Christmas Eve. Not that I have anything important to do, I'd just like to be able to go home and do some cleaning before everyone shows up on Christmas day. Seems my Bro, SIL and nephew will be joining us around Noon for dinner and presents. I have a pretty good idea that we'll have presents first. LOL! Who's gonna tell my three-year-old nephew he has to wait?! NOT ME!

And, I'd like to make an educated guess on what the surprise might be from my Mom and Dad. I'm thinking it's a Nintendo Wii. Now, this is an educated guess, I do not know. It almost killed me yesterday not to snoop around and see the box since it was so close to me, yet covered up. I seriously think they're trying to torture me! Based on the size and dimensions of the box, it could definitely be a Wii, however, they could be tricking me... I've always kind of wanted one, but it hasn't been a priority since the hubby has been without a job almost the entire year. Apparently, my Mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told her a Wii. Keep in mind, she asked me last Tuesday... ya know, when I was so doped up on valium I didn't know my own name?! Ugh... I feel bad for asking for that because they're not cheap, but Jesus... what did she expect?! Don't ask someone out of their mind what they want for Christmas, it's just not a good idea.

I guess I can't be thankful I didn't say I wanted a dildo. :-)

A busy Friday and Saturday...

Yesterday, I finally got the call I've been waiting for since August! My friend Heather's mom was finally ready to give away her beloved cat. Her mom's health hasn't been the greatest recently and she felt she couldn't take good care of her "Baby" anymore. Luckily, I get to give him a new home. Meet Walter... our newest addition. He's a creme colored and very sweet. He weighs in at 13 pounds and enjoys napping, Meow Mix and licking himself. LOL!

And then today... finally today... I completed the gaudy Christmas tree! LOL! Here's the picture I promised. It's not great, but I didn't want to get my dirty carpet in the picture. For some reason, I thought I'd take a quick picture before I vacuumed!

Ended up making chocolate pretzels last night after I got Walter home. Most of the time we only do the white chocolate but we experimented with the milk chocolate and they were good... just not as good. I reckon I'll take them to work and let them devour them. Ya see, they'll eat anything. Literally, anything. We're like cows grazing on an open pasture. Food is food... and they love it.

Tomorrow, Mom and I are going to make chocolate fudge, peanut butter kiss cookies and snickerdoodles. Well... snickerdoodles or chocolate chip cookies, not sure which. Mom hates snickerdoodles and I like 'em. I've never made them before so I'm anxious to know how they turn out.

Christmas is less than a week away and I'm ready! I love having my parents, brother, sister-in-law and nephew over for dinner and presents. Other than the holidays, they don't come for dinner often. Most of the time, they just drop by to visit for an hour then leave to see my sister-in-law's family. Oh! And I'm excited because supposedly, my Mom has a surprise for me! I haven't had a surprise at Christmas time since I was like 12. I've wrapped all my own presents for years! So I'm thrilled... I have no idea what it is, but the thought of a surprise just elates me!

Off to play on Pogo and watch some Golden Girls! :)

It's almost Friday!

Deck the halls with boughs of holly... fa-la-la-la-laaa-la-la-la-laaaa! And as you read that, be thankful you're reading, not hearing :) My voice is far from angelic, but I sure like to sing.

I'm really trying to get myself into the Christmas mood, but I'm pretty sure its not working. I'm not sure if its because I've been miserable since August with this damn leg or Dad trying to die on me or the computer upgrade at work... I've had a lot of crazy this year and I think its ruining my spirit!

Sooner or later, I'm going to have to decorate that damn tree... and I reckon I'll do it this weekend. The pain from my leg is radiating into my lower back and I feel pretty useless today. I guess I'll sit on my ass and make chocolate covered pretzels tonight instead of decorating or baking cookies. We'll save the heavy work for this weekend so I can be miserable then. :)

The last Christmas gift I'd ordered has arrived! I bought my 3-yr old nephew, "Eye", a tee ball stand, ball and bat. Woot! We gotta get this boy playing some baseball early... LOL! I just hope he likes it and eventually maybe he'll make me proud and play little league. I really miss going to games and cheering on the kids... so hopefully I can make some plans for that in a few years.

Ahhh... I have so much work to do and I better get back to it before boss man walks around! :)

MRI day

Finally the MRIs are done!! Brain, neck and lower back are all behind me now :) I'm so glad and I was so stressed over such a small thing. My mom ended up driving me since I was medicated with valium. The doctor didn't think the valium was doing the trick, so she gave me an extra shot of something of another. Long story short, they're DONE. D-O-N-E! Woot.

After the MRI and some lunch, Mom and I headed to do some Christmas shopping. Four stores later, we're done!! We've got the majority of the wrapping tackled and under my un-decorated tree! LOL! I promise, I'll decorate it this weekend and it'll be fan-freakin'-tastic. :)

Well, I'm off to watch some delicious DVR.

Sweet dreams...

It's been such a long day... I set up our Christmas tree all by my lonesome. Rando refused to participate and took shelter in the barn from me and Fuz. Stupid tree goes to the ceiling and its huge... Too huge for just two people and an evil little cat. I figure tomorrow evening or this weekend I'll get around to getting the lights and ornaments on and looking gaudy as ever.

Our trees growing up never looked perfect or elegant... they were gaudy and beautiful. Absolutely beautifully overloaded with lights and homemade ornaments. I had a friend who's family had to have the perfect, most glamorous tree of only maroon and gold. It was beautiful, but in a different way. Theirs was beautiful in the elegant way... ours was beautiful as a family Christmas tree. Thankfully, they both meant a great deal to both of us.

Anyways... I was going to say goodnight but you see where that got me... Rambling about a Christmas tree. Tomorrow's a big day... second try at the MRIs I need to get done of my neck and back for the doctor. That story's for another day, I'm just trying to calm my nerves. I'm praying I can come back tomorrow and say, "Everything went great!" I know I'm strong enough to get through this stupid test but I have extra ammunition with the Valium the doctor prescribed to help calm my nerves. Hmphf.

It'll all be okay!!! Goodnight!

My first post

So, this is where it all begins. I truly have no idea what I'm going to do with this blog. I reckon I'll just rant about people or things that piss me off, exciting things in my life, things I need to get off my chest and random what nots. Yea... that should tell ya alot. :)

In short, I'm a simple country girl from Southern Indiana. I'm 26 and been married for six years now to my loving husband, Rando. We have a cat, Fuz, or "da Fuz" as we call him. He's a nut, and so is my husband. My parents live next door to us, so life is hectic sometimes. Hectic, but good.

I'll post more later.. Maybe some pics, maybe some more rambling... Who knows!
